You will report to the Director of Operations and be part of the leadership team to be a true change agent in regards to safety. This will be an individual contributor role and you will work closely with the parent company. Opportunity to work from home occasionally on Friday's.Job DescriptionThe EHS Manager - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:Initiate, implement, and maintain environmental engineering programs affecting the plant.Conduct thorough investigation of environmental problem areas.Recommend types of equipment to be used and equipment specifications eliminating environmental problems.Ensure that new process equipment for which he/she is responsible meets prescribed engineering specifications and is properly installed.Monitor plant compliance to regulatory permit requirements.Ensure operation of plant wastewater treatment process meets regulatory requirements.Provide environmental awareness training for plant personnel on an annual basis.Interface with regulatory agencies to conduct site audits and assist in negotiation of permit requirements.Work with local government officials to maintain a favorable corporate neighbor image.Plan and coordinate all safety training programs, recommend safety incentive and award programs. Conduct safety meetings.Workers' compensation coordinator - work closely with insurer to provide timely compensation and timely and adequate medical care to injured employees. Represent company at related legal proceedings.Coordinate and participate in monthly inspection program identifying potential safety hazards and ensure timely correction of all violations.Coordinate and participate in investigations for injuries, near miss incidents and property damage incidents.Develop safety-related policies and procedures.Serve as Chairman of Safety Committee.Administer contractor safety program including periodic inspections and correction of violations.Conduct safety analyses on specific jobs where required.Coordinate ordering, maintenance, and distribution of personal safety equipment to employees, ensuring related records are maintained.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful ApplicantThe ideal EHS Manager - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.2+ years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to lead and manage EHS programs and teams.Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent are preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.What's on OfferThe successful EHS Manager - Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:Base Salary of $90,000-$125,000 depending on experience401K MatchPTOMedical, Dental, VisionContactErin McQuillanQuote job refJN-092024-6548724
