Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be supporting the detail design, analysis, integration, and testing of advanced optical and electro-mechanical systems for state-of-the-art military (ground, airborne, space) systems.
Responsibilities
- Support the detail design, analysis, integration, and test of advanced optical and electro-mechanical systems.
- Participate in and lead an assembly/integration team.
- Develop and implement process improvements and lean manufacturing techniques.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Utilize CAD modeling tools (PTC CREO4 preferred, Solidworks acceptable).
- Employ PTC/Simulate, MathCAD, or other analysis packages.
- Apply knowledge of machine shop processes, machine design, and strength of materials.
- 3-5 years of experience in opto-mechanical fabrication, assembly, and alignment of high-fidelity space systems.
- Experience in being part of and leading an assembly/integration team.
- Knowledge of CAD modeling (PTC CREO4 preferred, Solidworks acceptable).
- Familiarity with PTC/Simulate, MathCAD or other analysis packages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Solid understanding of machine shop processes, machine design, strength of materials, hardware, and hand tools.
- Experience with manufacturing engineering, process improvement, and process engineering.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Project management skills.
- Proficiency with Solidworks and tooling.
- Experience with machining, automation, and validation.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 9000 standards.
- Mastercam programming and CNC expertise.
