Position Summary:
The Production Manager at Botron is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process, ensuring that production goals are met in a timely, cost-effective, and high-quality manner. This role requires the effective management of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, as well as the implementation of continuous improvement strategies to optimize production efficiency. The Production Manager will collaborate with other departments, such as supply chain, quality control, and engineering, to align production with business objectives and customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Planning & Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules that meet customer demands while optimizing the use of labor and materials. Ensure that production targets are achieved on time and within budget.
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment to drive team performance.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of labor, equipment, and materials to ensure smooth operations. Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to minimize downtime due to material shortages.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that all products meet Botron’s quality standards and industry regulations.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce workplace safety regulations and protocols. Ensure that production processes comply with all relevant industry standards and health and safety guidelines.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage the production department's budget. Monitor and control production costs while identifying areas for cost savings without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with other departments such as engineering, and supply chain to ensure the seamless execution of production goals, product introductions, and process improvements.
- Reporting & Analysis: Maintain accurate production records and generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as production output, efficiency, lead times, and quality metrics. Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field. Advanced certifications in Lean Six Sigma and PMP is a plus.
- Language: Verbally Fluent in both English and Spanish languages.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in production management or similar role, preferably within electronics manufacturing.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced production environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of manufacturing processes, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001). Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies are preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to analyze production data and identify process improvements.
- Budgeting & Cost Management: Experience in managing production budgets, controlling costs, and improving operational efficiency.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency with manufacturing software (ERP/MRP systems), Microsoft Office, and production planning tools.
