What You'll Be Doing:

Engage in hands-on process engineering support for the production floor by launching new products, working on production issues, and on process improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties as assigned.
  • Use engineering principles to provide production operations support with hands on troubleshooting and development.
  • Lead process optimization for facility.
  • Act as a technical resource for machine capabilities and product limitations on new parts.
  • Improve process control and product quality.
  • Maximize operational effectiveness, i.e. bottleneck analysis, set-up time reduction.
  • Review tooling, machine, and product drawings with use of 3D CAD software.
  • Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues for production and product launches.
  • Assist Quality Assurance in qualifying gauges and other measuring devices to be used in or on production processes.
  • Customer contact for process related concerns (some travel required)
Schedule: This overtime-exempt and will primarily workten or more hours per day, four days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 5AM - 3:30PM Monday to Thursday or similar.

Work Environment - The performance of the position requires exposure to typical office areas and manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. The employee is occasionally exposed to odors, airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the manufacturing area is usually loud.

Qualifications Qualifications Qualifications

Qualified Applicants Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with metal-forming processes such as roll forming, progressive stamping, tooling, welding, tube bending, CNC machining, and/or laser cutting.
  • Computer skills - MS Office with strong Excel spreadsheet knowledge, CAD and ability to learn new software, including internal manufacturing software.
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • US Person as defined by ITAR & EAR ( U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person" under 8 U.S.C.)
Preferred Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Engineering degree (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
  • Experience with roll forming or progressive stamping, tryout or R&D
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, manual mills & lathes, PLC, Electrical controls programming, PFMEA, SPC, GD&T, quality certification systems.
