Job Description:Overview:The Rogue Engineering team is looking for a CNC manufacturing subject matter expert with a background in production-scale machining and integration with automated systems. The style and over engineering Rogue is known for will require someone with a deep understanding of how to optimize a wide variety of precision machined components for volume production. We are looking for someone who has a passion for fitness and is driven to create best in class products that will provide both world class durability and function. The product lines this role will be responsible for working on / overseeing, include barbells, specialty bars, dumbbells, machined rack attachments, etc.Passion about Rogue and the strength market is critical to this role.About Rogue Fitness:Rogue Fitness is the leading manufacturer of strength and conditioning equipment, including barbells, power racks, sleds, and accessoriesFounded in a garage in 2006, the company has grown to 800+ team members at its 600,000 sq. ft. headquarters near downtown Columbus, OhioRogue is the official equipment supplier of the CrossFit Games, USA Weightlifting, the Arnold Strongman Classic, and the World's Strongest Man competitionThe company remains dedicated to serving the needs of serious athletes at every level, from the garage to the arenaRead more about The Rogue WayOur Values:We work until it's doneEveryone puts their boots on the same wayHigh Speed, Low DragResponsibilities:Improves manufacturing efficiency for new and existing products by being cognizant of manufacturing costs, raw material yield, labor costs, packaging, warehousing and shipping costs.Develop and maintain CNC G-code programs.Configure and operate CNC machines to safely perform precise machining functions on metal workpieces, including mounting, installing, aligning and securing tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.Work with Operations to develop safety, quality and efficiency improvements as they apply to the machining group.Transition parts from prototype to production by developing and selecting necessary gauging, providing complete drawing packages, optimizing programs for efficiency, and selecting tooling that enhances the production process and overall production efficiency.Support machine equipment layouts and process flows to optimize team performanceInstallation of large equipment packages, conducting successful and detail-oriented runoffsImprove processes to increase throughput and reduce change over timesManages multiple and shifting priorities in a fast paced environmentCreate solutions to reduce WIPImplement best practices for material handling and storageAble to distill large volumes of data into actionable business strategiesAbility to troubleshoot and/or communicate equipment problems and failures with maintenance and vendors to maximize machine uptime.Proven track record of implementing and monitoring manufacturing strategy (TPS/Lean/5S/Continuous Improvement)Operate lift trucks and perform all other duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Welding, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Material Science Engineering or related field is preferred5+ years of world class manufacturing experience in a high volume metal fabrication environment is required in one of the following industries: Aerospace, Firearms, Motorsports, Precision Outdoors, Marine Technology5+ years CNC machining/programming experience on both mills and lathes, including dual spindle machinesCAD/CAM experience including creating and reading engineering drawingsDemonstrated ability to create value by thorough understanding of process interdependenciesExperience with department and equipment layouts to optimize productionExperience with purchasing capital equipment and supporting production start-up is requiredExperience with automation of manufacturing processesExperience with Engineering Change ManagementKnowledge of quality systems and process controlsExpertise in optimizing CNC programs for productionMust have lean training and the ability to utilize lean tools in a manufacturing environmentData driven and analytical.
