Hiring Bonus : $1,000 after 90 days and $1,000 after 1 year


Position Overview

The Manufacturing/Process Engineer is to maintain and improve the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of all production activities to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.  Specifically, this role will be accountable for developing and implementing process strategies, managing process resources, and optimizing existing processes. Demonstrates Mustad values, showing respect for and engagement with co-workers, especially as they contribute to a quality product and organization success.

Essential Job Functions (required duties and responsibilities)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Develops 3D CAD models of process, tools (die sets, hot forge dies tooling, etc. and equipment improvement following all safety and SOP regulations and procedures, including Mustad Performance System (MPS)
  • Supports supervisors and other staff with technical knowledge related to 3D CAD model programming and drawing, robotics, closed die hot forging, machine shop, etc.  Shares best practices and recommends new process machinery.
  • Conducts and/or participates in design reviews for new products and new process projects. Supports R & D in integrating new technologies and machinery into the manufacturing environment.
  • Assists in assessment of existing manufacturing methods and research new technologies for improving the capabilities of current processes.
  • Performs risk analyses, designs and tests processes, creates reports to convey results and outcomes; troubleshoots and resolves or suggests resolution for process concerns.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates standardized operating instructions including data analysis for supporting the decision making process.
  • Improve all electromechanical processes integrated with robotics through zero failure analysis and other improvement techniques
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics). Engineering degree with more than 5 years experience.
  • 3 years process engineering experience in field operation, process design & engineering, including 3D CAD modeling, Solidworks or other modeling software
  • Knowledge of process (hot forged, die close dies, tooling, CNC machines, or robotics)
  • Problem solving skills, advance technical skills, analytical thinker
  • Highly self-motivated, adaptable to change, and an excellent work ethic
  • Well organized with a strong aptitude for details
  • Able to read, understand, analyze, and problem-solve mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Able to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding computer skills MS office, and data analysis, PowerBI and others
  • Familiarity with Quality, health, environmental and safety regulations
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must work well in a team environment

Desirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required)

  • Experience working with CNC machines, robotics programming, close-die, hot forge, designing tooling.
  • Spanish fluency verbally and in writing
  • Industrial environments

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Periods of standing, walking, reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and working with tools
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must hold a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally on occasion

Work Environment

The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals.  Individuals are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and be working with and near moving mechanical parts with the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.  Personal Protective Equipment will be provided.
