Job Description:

The top priorities of this position will be to support operations in delivering quality products on time and to the customer's requirements. It will require learning and understanding electrical and mechanical design, assembly processes, and test requirements. The candidate will design and document processes, tooling, and assembly fixtures to meet engineering drawing requirements. The candidate will also identify and propose cost savings, solve problems, and quickly respond to process and quality issues. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with the other departments and possess good verbal and written English skills. The performance will be measured by the ability to work with others, managing commitments including timely project completion, and annual cost savings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Tooling and Process

  • Design or source, verify, and implement tooling for assembly.
  • Create new or update existing process instructions.
  • Develop assembly line process documentation (specification, work instructions, etc.).
  • Keep assembly processes and tooling fixtures up to date.
  • Manage new product launches into production.
  • Identify and Support cost reduction initiatives with the process and tooling improvement.

Troubleshooting and Corrective Actions

  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Investigate and participate in corrective and preventative action plans to address non-conformances.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to determine any component and assembly issues and implement the preventative solution promptly.
  • Implement improvement initiatives using continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Assist and/or Lead with the disposition and root cause(s) of Correction Action Requests (CARs) and Non-conformance Reports (NCRs)


Other Key Responsibilities

  • Work on PFMEA to identify potential risk and reduce to acceptable level.
  • Support Inspection and QA test with fixtures design and equipment implementation.
  • Provide technical support to multi-levels of employees while working in a team environment.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Self-motivation and aptitude for learning.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of engineering drawing and tolerancing.
  • Experience in 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and 2D drawing development.
  • Extensive knowledge of tooling and fixture design.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in tackling a heavy workload.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
