Job Description
Shift: 2-2-3 schedule (work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days, off 2 days & off 3 days) every two weeks you will be schedule to work 36 hours one week and 48 hours the other.

Days or Overnight shifts available.

Job Summary

Position requires the knowledge and ability to troubleshoot effectively and efficiently, repair, install and maintain production, manufacturing, and building and support equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand and interpret written and oral instructions, comprehend, and make inferences from written material, read, and interpret machine and building blueprints
  • Complete work orders in an accurate and timely manner
  • Responsible for all machine maintenance with safety and functionality as a focus
  • Identify machine parts needed for repair or stocking and inform MRO Buyer
  • Perform work from an aerial platform scissors or boom lift in a safe, effective, and efficient manner
  • Identify and report problems and possible solutions regarding the efficiency and functionality of production assets
  • Assist electricians, when necessary, with the mechanical aspects of the job
  • Understand and comply with all lockout/tagout procedures
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment
  • Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment
  • Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators
  • Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery
  • Record and report parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary
  • Record and report repairs and maintenance performed
  • Perform buildings and grounds maintenance as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a mechanical state apprenticeship program
  • Electrical knowledge/machine controls experience

Work Requirements:

  • Must work in a safe, clean and ethical manner at all times
  • Occasional travel off-site for the purpose of:
    • Training and information gathering to support the implementation of new production equipment
    • Obtaining parts to get machines and equipment back into production
  • Completion of training and applicable certification for forklift, high lift, boom lift, and lock out tagout
  • Must work well with others
  • Effective communicator, and able to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently
  • Must possess a positive attitude, willingness to learn and have good attendance
