We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – 2nd Shift to provide technical production support for medical device manufacturing lines. At Merrimack Manufacturing, we are dedicated to the manufacturing of our designer’s lifesaving novel medical devices while building a culture of innovation and ownership.
This role is for 2nd shift on a 9/80 schedule with the following hours: 3:00PM – 12:00AM.

How you will make an impact:
- The Manufacturing Engineer – 2nd Shift will act as the primary technical resource responsible for supporting line OEE during production hours.
- Owns the collection, processing, and analysis of manufacturing process data to troubleshoot current line issues and build a predictive model for unplanned Down Time.
- Exercise statistical methods to improve manufacturing quality across established product lines.
- Troubleshoot manual and automated production equipment. Determine root cause and corrective action and document for findings and long-term preventative maintenance.
- Complete failure analysis for products to determine reasons for rejection.
- Support and lead equipment validation and training activities.
- Interface with project engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams to prioritize process improvement projects relating to OEE.
- Prioritizes the success of the team. Acknowledges personal weaknesses.
- Takes on personal responsibility for the overall production lines success in a challenging, learning environment.
- Possess emotional intelligence and critical thinking ability to listen and effectively interact with others. Can show empathy to teammates and works to build teams.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or suitable combination of successful prior experience and education.
- 1-3+ years’ experience in a hands-on, production manufacturing engineering role with medical devices
- Previous experience building, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electro-mechanical systems/devices, manufacturing processes, and assembly lines.
- Experience with statistical software packages.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Understanding and successful prior use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Principles.
- High proficiency in MSOffice applications, Visio, Etc.
