Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-2:00pm

Job Summary:

Provide new product designs, tooling designs, through interaction with customers and account management to create part designs that meet customer requirements and are able to be manufactured. Apply engineering concepts to assigned work. In addition, provide manufacturing line support. Production Engineering role support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide new product designs, tooling designs, through interaction with customers and account management to create part designs that meet customer requirements and are able to be manufactured. Apply engineering concepts to assigned work. In addition, provide manufacturing line support. Production Engineering role support.

Process Development and Documentation

  • Clearly and concisely document both new and existing processes for all aspects of Dalsin Manufacturing, including but not limited to:
    1. Press Brake part creation
    2. Panel Bender part creation
    3. Welding and Spot Welding
    4. Paint and/or finishing
    5. Electro-mechanical assembly
  • Generate part and assembly drawings from new and revised designs
  • Generate packaging requirements
  • Assemble job router packets as required

CAD Work

  • Transfer customer part information into the CAD/CAM system and maintain accurate and consistent part information on computer files.

Fixture Design

  • Generate fixture designs for manufacturing processes and inspection, utilizing CAD, 3D, etc

CI Projects

  • Actively work with Production to define improvements in work stations/processes

DFM Review

  • Participate or conduct Design for Manufacturing Reviews internally and externally with customer and com.
  • Review routings to look for best manufacturing option, and review bills of material to confirm accuracy and to finalize shear sizes.

Customer Interaction

  • Gain clarification from customer representative on models received or DFM changes needed
  • Seek deviations from original design

Department Processes

  • Drive Design Engineering process improvements
  • Update SOP
  • Recommend new SOP
  • Train others
  • Adhere to engineering standards, specifications, and practices. Make suggestions to their improvement.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or ASS with relevant work experience.


ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

• Experienced in CAD/CAM computer products. (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PEP)

  • Support key technologies.
  • Participate in special projects and carry out other duties as assigned.
  • Communicates effectively with employees and management to insure that all are informed as necessary to ensure that products are completed successfully.
  • Ability to develop and maintain rapport with employees to ensure that projects are completed as smoothly and effectively as possible.
  • Willingness to provide information and training to others as necessary to ensure that the most accurate information is available to other employees as needed.
