Job Description
Job Scope: The Meat Room Operator is to be proficient in the operation and sanitation of the meat room area and equipment and have knowledge to assist in producing pet food kibbles within set specification, while organizing changeovers with minimal lost time. This person must be capable of performing routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting quality concerns.
Work Environment: Work is performed both indoor and outdoor with operating equipment and loud noise such as forklift horns and maybe lose particle. At different time throughout the year, work performed in this job require employee to work in hot weather, rain and cold. In addition, work performed in this job require employee to work in a refrigerator with temperature at or below 37 degrees. Work performed in this job requires employees to wear bump cap, hearing protection and safety glasses at all times.
Shift Schedule: Rotating 12hr Shifts: 6:00pm - 6:25am
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Become proficient in the knowledge of fresh meat specifications.
- Monitor cooler settings, footbath strength, and incoming raw ingredients.
- Inspect and unload incoming fresh meat.
- Maintaining First-In-First-Out protocol on fresh meats.
- Disassemble and reassemble micro-cutter, pumps, meat lines, etc...
- Organized record keeping and fresh meat inventories.
- Clean and organize the meat room and cold room.
- Perform and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation.
- Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in accordance to company policy.
- Perform all functions in accordance with sound safety practices and procedure.
- Report all safety violations and safety hazards to Safety Manager immediately
- Participate in all safety program
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
