What You’ll Do…
- Establishes best practices, documents and implements standard work with the fabrication equipment which includes the shear, brake press, punch press, lathe, mill, CTD saw, etc.
- Inspects equipment being designed and built utilizing the appropriate measuring device to assure items meet Engineering specifications.
- Involvement with the complete design process and execution, of the fixtures, templates, locators, etc. used in the manufacturing process in both assembly and welding.
- Construction and maintenance of fixtures, templates, locators and miscellaneous equipment used in the manufacturing process.
- This position will play an active role in the part proliferation initiative to standardize components used in manufacturing.
- Ability to read and understand piece part and weldment blue prints as designed by the Engineering Department.
- Working knowledge of tensile strength and parent metal composition.
- May review and analyze manufacturing functions, submitting suggestions to improve efficiency, quality, safety and cost.
- May review cost savings or any type of other suggestion submitted by employees pertaining to the manufacturing process. Participates in investigating and responding to the same.
- May act as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing. Coordinating manufacturing abilities with engineering specifications and requests, and product design requirements.
- Plays an active role on insourcing projects that may include documenting or reverse engineering items to be made in house.
What You Need…
- Must have adequate sight to read blueprints and other engineering documents, work orders and other manufacturing documents. May be required to use Personal Computer (P.C.) intermittently.
- Responsible for operation and use of hand tools.
- Required to use basic math and writing skills.
- Required to be proficient at ACAD, Inventor
- Required to be familiar with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Comply with all company rules, policies, and decisions.
- Must maintain the confidentiality of employee, department, and company business.
- Required to stand for prolonged periods.
- Must stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations.
- Intermittently lifts and carries items of light to medium weight (up to 75 lbs.)
- May perform duties requiring employee to intermittently bend and twist.
