About the Role:
Wing is looking for a Manufacturing Software Test Lead to join our Manufacturing team based in Palo Alto, CA. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience leading a team to develop and deploy software to power our test automation in manufacturing. The successful candidate is able to demonstrate a broad multidisciplinary background of hardware and software systems as well as being able to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment where every team member is empowered to leverage their strengths in order to deliver robust solutions to difficult manufacturing problems.

Wing is looking for a Manufacturing Software Test Lead to join our Manufacturing team based in Palo Alto, CA. What You'll Do:
- Hire, manage, and mentor a team of hardware/software test engineers responsible for our testing infrastructure across our manufacturing and reverse logistics sites
- Lead the development and deployment test automation software and tools for our aircraft vehicles to manufacturing sites
- Drive strategic decision-making through in-depth analysis of manufacturing data to identify and resolve complex hardware, software, and embedded Linux systems challenges in aircraft technologiesOversee and enhance aircraft activation and testing protocols at operational sites, ensuring alignment with company objectives and operational excellence
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with internal teams, vendors and contract manufacturer to drive projects, resolve issues and improve design/processes
- Architect and implement robust data analysis infrastructure, enabling proactive insights and continuous improvement across the manufacturing lifecycle
What You'll Need:
- BS or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 12+ years of experience in manufacturing software/hardware test engineering role from NPI to MP stage
- 5+ years of people management experience
- Proven track record of building, leading, and managing high-functioning technical teams
- Ability to influence across multiple functional teams
- Experience scaling, operationalizing, or commercializing at a previous company
- Experience in Python software development with strong understanding of data structures and object oriented programming.
- Knowledge of test automation, methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases and debugging
- Knowledge working with Unix/Linux environments, embedded consumer electronic devices and driving Software QA processes, methodologies and shipping products.
- Experience in prototyping, bring-up, debugging, verification, and providing manufacturing support for embedded systems.
- Knowledge with communication interfaces such as USB, UART, SSH, SCPI, or CAN
- Experience with electronics fundamentals (e.g., reading schematics, data sheets)
- Ability to travel internationally 10-15%
