HR Manufacturing Specialist/Sr. Specialist
Advantest America is the North American subsidiary of Advantest Corporation, the world's largest provider of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) to the semiconductor industry. For over six decades, Advantest has led the way in developing new and innovative test and handling solutions for the global electronics industry. This is an onsite role located at Advantest Test Solutions in Lake Forest, CA.
Advantest Test Solutions (ATS) is seeking an HR Manufacturing Specialist who will be responsible for various Human Resources disciplines. You will work closely with the HR Manager in benefits, employee relations, recruiting and more. A key element for this position is the ability multitask requires strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate is an HR professional with an in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, as it relates to the semiconductor industry and similar production environments.
You will provide support in the areas of Employee Relations/HRIS/Compensation/Benefits Leaves of Absence, Staffing/Employment. Responsibilities include a multitude of activities such as navigating the new hire lifecycle, onboarding and offboarding paperwork, closely maintaining employee files, I9 verifications, managing and resolving workplace incidents and employee relations issues within the manufacturing environment of ATS. This role focuses on maintaining a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with employment laws regulations, and addressing employee concerns effectively. The HR Manufacturing Specialist will work closely with employees, supervisors, and management to promote a safe and productive workplace.
Essential Duties Responsibilities:
Partner with HR Coordinator on HR offer lifecycle including drafting job offers, comp negotiations, offer approvals, complete internal new hire forms, run background checks, maintain I-9s employee files, file new hire documents, ensure all new hires are compliant with HR policies, etc.
Data entry in various portals, forms, etc.
Incident Management:
Respond to and investigate workplace incidents, including safety violations, accidents, and near misses.
Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, and document findings to determine root causes.
Develop and implement corrective actions and preventative measures to address identified issues.
Collaborate with safety officers, facilities, and quality teams to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Employee Relations:
Act as a point of contact for Manufacturing Employees to address concerns, grievances, and conflicts.
Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees and/or between employees and management.
Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement and retention strategies.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations, and resolutions.
Training and Development:
Work with HQ Safety Teams to develop and deliver training programs related to workplace safety.
Work with HR Manager to educate employees and supervisors on company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Follow up with employees to ensure ATS is in compliance with all required trainings.
Collaborate in planning, managing execution of company events/ volunteer opportunities/ etc.
Partner with Benefits Administrator in HQ office and HR Manager on general inquiries, handle leaves of absence, etc.
Communicate updates to the HR Manager on a weekly basis.
Responsible for recruiting lifecycle for Manufacturing – this includes internet postings, aligning job descriptions internally with hiring managers, passive recruiting, employee referrals, working closely with staffing agencies when budgeted, etc.
May work with various staffing agencies to recruit and interview for onboarding full time, interns and temporary workers.
May schedule interviews maintain interviews occur in a timely manner.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements, Education Skills: Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Communications; Human Resources; etc).
5+ years of experience specifically in a manufacturing environment, directly handling employee relations, incident management, de-escalation skills, leaves of absence.
Knowledge of employment laws (California specific), safety regulations, and HR best practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Well-organized with very strong attention to detail.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Excellence and professionalism in written and verbal correspondence.
Proven negotiation skills.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
Ability to thrive in a team environment and work well with others.
This is an on-site role, in our Lake Forest, CA office.
