Eaton's IS AER MSD is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician III Soldering. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility. This position will be responsible for electrical solder work on the space team within the Orchard Park plant.Core hours for this position is 6:00AM-3:00PMThe hourly rate for this position is $28.32 per hour.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you'll do:Summary: Manufacturing technicians are responsible for performing assembly and test processes on aerospace hardware. Development of hardware, creating functional test setups, working with various high pressure gases, and initiating engineering collaboration to successfully deliver quality aerospace components and systems. Technicians are Responsible for communicating and coordinating with the Production Supervisor regarding specific production needs (part availability, equipment, production status, and schedule updates) to ensure on-time delivery. Perform assembly and testing of production hardware within the confines of the systems and procedures and the certified operator system.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. •Perform manufacturing processes on complex assemblies following written instructions.•Detailed knowledge of pneumatic and thermal test requirements and equipment to evaluate aerospace systems.•Experienced in the use of Pressure gauges, flowmeters, relief valves, and/or transducers to create test setups per engineering diagrams and customer specifications.•Knowledgeable in complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies with a familiarity in component surface finishes and aerospace cleanliness requirements.•Thorough Understanding of mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.•Skilled at diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical assemblies and high pressure test equipment issues.•Ability to work on complex projects and/or products with minimal direction and knowledge to involve required support from Engineering or Supervision.•Verify calibrated equipment, material with expiration dates and written instructions are up to date and accurate prior to use in production. •Properly manage the traceability of numerous components to ensure assembly accuracy.•Work in partnership with Engineering to Identify improvement opportunities, resulting in a decrease of lead time, cost savings, elimination of waste, or safety improvement•Obtain and maintain Certified Operator Status following site guidelines•Responsible for ensuring that compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.•Assist Production Supervisor in training, developing and mentoring the lower level technicians on products, manufacturing processes and testing practices.Qualifications:Required:•High School Diploma or GED•Minimum of 4 years Aerospace manufacturing experience OR 5 years of Military experience OR minimum 6 years of relevant Manufacturing experience •Minimum of 3 years of previous soldering experience•Assembly & Test experience in a Space Systems manufacturing environment•US Citizen or Permanent ResidentPreferred:•Associates Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Technology•Electronics assembly and Inspection experience (Certified in J-STD-001 and or IPC-A-610)•Solid understanding of electrical equipment. i.e. power supplies, ohm and volt meters, oscilloscopes and data acquisition systems.•US Citizen or Permanent Resident•Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts #IND123#LI-RR2We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
