Our factories produce low-volume, high complexity analytical products for semiconductor designers and manufacturers to use in the creation and improvement of their products and manufacturing processes.How will you make an impact?You will be part of a diverse team responsible for the successful introduction of new products into the factory and field. You will also contribute to the ongoing improvement of products and the processes used for manufacturing and service. This role collaborates closely with the Product Lifecycle Management, Product Marketing, New Product Development, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, and Global Technical Support groups to ensure the development of sustainable products according to the latest quality standards, at lowest COGS. Throughout the lifecycle of our products, the Operations Engineering team implements quality, cost, and process improvements to increase customer satisfaction.Responsibilities:Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects as they transition from initiation through release according to Product Management Process (PMP) via close collaboration with R&DDefine requirements for manufacturability, serviceability and reliability, software, test and diagnostics (TAD) protocolsDrive Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on behalf of operations for all new productsParticipate with R&D in initial product builds and validationCreate and deliver initial training to Manufacturing, Technical Support and Service personnel in new product build, test, install and repair procedures.Support field service engineers with first installs and upgrades of newly introduced systems and modules to ensure proper working order. This may require travel to various customer locations worldwide to support installations and upgradesResolve factory or field blocking issues as needed by interacting with the appropriate functional groups to achieve resolution. Drives follow-up actions to ensure issues are resolved.Apply Thermo Fisher Scientific's Practical Process Improvement (PPI) tools to lead or facilitate productivity, scrap reduction, process improvement, and cost improvement projects using data driven analysisContribute to EFA Operations Engineering strategyRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or combination of technical education and experience that demonstrates required skills5+ years of experience in high-tech industry environment in service, development, or manufacturingAble to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems using electrical schematics, DVM, oscilloscopes, function generators and spectrum analyzersExperience with FMEA, Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, and Design of ExperimentsDemonstrated experience managing new product introduction and cross-functional projectsAble to plan and resolve issues that involve gaining cooperation of cross-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites without damaging relationshipsExcellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively and impact-fully report to multiple levels of the organizationMust have ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as requiredThermo Fisher Scientific is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in our workforce.
