Torus is hiring a Manufacturing Machine Operator Generalist to join our Production Team. You will be responsible for operating a variety of manufacturing machines and ensuring efficient, high-quality production in accordance with safety, quality and operating guidelines. The position requires technical aptitude, flexibility and the ability to multitask across various machine setups (including CNC machines, press brakes, and laser cutting machines) to include operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor and maintain different types of manufacturing machines (CNC machines, press brakes, and laser cutting)
- Set up machines for production runs according to job specifications, ensuring alignment, calibration, and efficiency.
- Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth operation.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Inspect finished products for quality, making adjustments as needed to meet production standards.
- Maintain accurate production logs, including downtime, output and any adjustments made during the shift.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals and deadlines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment and at all times to ensure a secure working environment.
- Successfully complete ongoing training.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- 2-5 years of experience as a Machine Operator, preferably with expertise in operating CNC machines, press brakes, and laser cutting machines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in related fields are a plus.
- Proficient in machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Basic understanding of machine maintenance procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under minimal supervision.
- Experience designing and modeling the following in SolidWorks: sheet metal, tube laser, and steel structures are preferred.
- Hands-on building and fabricating are preferred.

Experience High School Diploma/Equivalent and 2-5+ years of experience as a Machine Operator, preferably with expertise in operating CNC machines, press brakes, and laser cutting machines.
Location This position works in an air-conditioned warehouse/manufacturing and cleanroom environments. A break area is available with refrigerator access, microwave, coffee maker, and drink/snack machines.
Schedule Full-Time + Hourly
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.
- Ability to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet.
- Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.
- Ability to communicate information so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Must report to work reliably and with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
