SUMMARY

Responsible for managing the maintenance activities in order to assure that equipment repair and maintenance is completed to support the successful operation of the automotive, marine & heavy truck paint manufacturing facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish departmental goals to support production, program launches and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead the Maintenance team to achieve KPIs targets
  • Perform maintenance management by supervising maintenance personnel and establishing priorities in maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitoring purchase orders, invoice approvals, and manages the department budget.
  • Provide training and continuous development on all maintenance personnel.
  • Perform Performance Evaluations on direct reports at least once per year.
  • Drive the Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, not reactive.
  • Identify, coordinate, and execute shutdown activities as required.
  • Perform other duties by coordinating work with outside inspections, providing project management, ensuring safety of personnel, and performing other duties as required.
  • Manage, maintain, and establish maintenance procedures for production lines in manufacturing environment to ensure production meets or performs better than budget.
  • Develop and maintaining associate safety standards.
  • Develop associate and supervisor skills by conducting training meetings; one on one development sessions; outside technical skills training; and establishing and monitoring performance reviews.
  • Set up and maintain departmental budget by reviewing financial statements; monitoring line efficiencies; monitoring labor cost; and other expenses.
  • Supervises the maintenance department & employees to provide effective diagnosis, repair and maintenance to support equipment up time on all shifts.
  • Support cost savings initiatives
  • Support ISO14000and IATF Quality System initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises hourly maintenance technicians.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree, Journeyman Card,or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in the maintenance field and a minimum of five-years in a leadership positon. Experience with Automotive Manufacturing Painting Operations & Equipment is essential.

Experience with or knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical equipment including paint lines, moving conveyors, robots and automation, air supply house / natural gas burners, HVAC, air ventilation and air balance, PLC controls, air compressors, and other heavy industrial equipment is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to effectively read and interpret blue prints;

ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals, groups of associates,

management representatives, suppliers and customers. Ability to utilize computerized word processing and

e-mail systems in the day-to-day functions of the job.

Reasoning Ability:

Requires analytical and problem solving knowledge, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. Exposure to extreme heat or cold may be encountered. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Work will typically be from eight to ten hours per day, five days a week, with occasional travel by car.
