Position Objective:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting AAF International’s manufacturing processes and operations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment while working closely with experienced engineers. You will have the chance to contribute to various projects aimed at optimizing production efficiency, improving quality, and implementing innovative solutions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support Production Processes: Assist in analyzing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to production metrics, including throughput, cycle time, and yield, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to conduct root cause analysis of defects and develop corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen events to streamline processes and drive operational excellence.
- Equipment Maintenance: Work with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, perform preventive maintenance tasks, and ensure equipment reliability to minimize downtime.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and project updates. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality, and supply chain to achieve project objectives and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools;
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, principles, and methodologies is a plus;
- Prior internship or coursework experience in manufacturing or engineering is preferred.
