Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a BIW Senior Manufacturing/Process Engineer to lead and manage the development of manufacturing processes, tooling alternatives, and efficient production flows. This individual will be responsible for providing leadership in managing major projects and ensuring the successful launch of high-quality parts and assemblies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical and project management skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Job Title: BIW Senior Manufacturing/Process Engineer
Location: Southfield, MI
Pay Range: $38-$41.40/hr. (W2 Contract)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently to develop manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations for the efficient use of personnel, materials, machines, and facilities.
  • Support or execute key tasks, including manufacturing process definition, sequence of operations, and the design, construction, and installation of equipment and tools.
  • Develop technical knowledge in process engineering disciplines and implement Lean principles.
  • Manage major projects and assignments with full accountability for results, including new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members and customers to solve problems, resolve issues, and ensure efficient material flow and human factors consideration.
  • Lead advanced process technology development and testing to drive innovation in production methods.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent training/experience. A Master's degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years managing major projects, including new product launches.
  • Experience leading outside vendors or body shop process leadership, with proven success in Design for Manufacturing.
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods of time and work collaboratively with extended teams to achieve common goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in controls/robotics and Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt certification).
  • Certified Project Manager (CPM) and experience with Microsoft Suites.
  • Military experience is a plus.
