This position is located in the Perris, CA facility.
Essential Job Responsibilities & Duties
Summary
Responsible for the shipping, receiving, and loading and unloading movement of raw materials and finished goods to the plant and to customers. Provides direct support for production processes, including, but not limited to, staging raw materials, staging packaging drums & totes, staging trailers, packaging & shipping finished product, inventory management practices, and general good housekeeping practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Regular and predictable on-site attendance required
- Operates forklift and yard jockey
- Utilizes yard jockey to position loaded and empty tankers for loading/unloading of finished resin and incoming raw materials
- Executes trailer readiness acceptance program (TRAP)
- Weighs inbound and outbound Trailers; enters Resin on Wheels (ROW) data
- Styrene rinse dirty trailers for production use
- Spots trailers into/out of loading and off-load bays
- Prepares packaged resin for shipment: drum palletizing, banding, and labeling, placard placement and verification, load securement, and preparing shipping paperwork per DOT and other regulatory standards; data entry of transactions in computer tracking applications
- Receives and moves raw materials, supplies, and other materials to and from loading docks, delivery vehicles, storage areas, and production areas either manually or using equipment, such as a forklift or a yard jockey, in a timely manner.
- Load and unload delivery trucks and verify that incoming deliveries match the company purchase orders
- Processes shipping, receiving, and inventory data into computer tracking applications
- Stages raw materials for micro-additives, reactor cooks, and formulation batches
- Stages drums and totes for completed products
- Executes good inventory management practices for the warehouse, such as first in, first out and kanban
- Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Perform all duties within Cal/OSHA safety rules and regulations at all times
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Work flexible hours and willing to work overtime and stand-by shifts
- Meets performance standards for quality, productivity, reliability, initiative, safety, and work relationships
Other Duties
- Assists with Hazardous Waste drum inventory and other safety inventories and/or inspections, as required
- Assist with month end inventories and documentation retention
- Provides continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and production initiatives.
- Participates in the established plant safety and good housekeeping programs.
- Completes monthly safety training requirements and participates in assigned subcommittees.
- Participates in Incident investigations, helps to establish and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Performs painting, scraping, and cleaning of the work areas, as designated.
- Carries out all responsibilities in compliance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal, and local laws.

- Exposure to extreme temperatures, hazardous chemicals, and rotating shift
Work Environment
Mainly a manufacturing facility, where exposed to chemical processing, outdoor work environment, moving mechanical parts, forklifts, yard jockey, heavy pallets, moderate to loud noise level, and air-borne dust, powders, and fumes. While working, will be required to wear various personal protective equipment (e.g., clothing, gloves, goggles, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, respirator, fall protection, disposable coverall suits, etc.).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver license
- Possession of or ability to earn a CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements
- Six months or more manufacturing, inventory, or warehousing experience, strongly preferred
- Ability to drive or learn to drive a yard jockey
- Ability to drive or learn to drive a forklift
- Ability to be flexible and possess a willingness to work in all facility areas, as needed
- General computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Work, PowerPoint) required; Delta V, Hydra, FedEx HazMat Shipping, and BNSF application, preferred.
- Ability to execute the established standard operating procedures
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently – verbal and written instructions, SOP’s, and batch records.
- Basic math computation skills and ability to use a calculator; knowledge of and competency with using metric measurements
- Knowledge of good documentation practices and DOT regulatory standards, strongly preferred
- Other competencies: good judgment, time management, organizational skills, ability to follow instructions, able to work on a team and independently, reliable to follow-through on delegated tasks, strong attention to detail.
Position Pay Scale $22.00 - $25.00
