Fast-growing West Coast Property Management and Development Company (westcoastselfstorage.com) is seeking a special person to join us as our Accounting Manager at our Everett, WA. office.
You will be part of an accounting/finance department that helps the company achieve its vision and strategy. Your success and fulfillment will be driven by your professional attributes and ability to assist others, contributing to a strong service culture where people come first.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting
- 5-7+ years of increasingly responsible accounting and personnel management experience
- A desire to learn our business operations from top to bottom in order to contribute significantly and broadly
Accounting Manager duties and responsibilities:
- Lead, support and manage a team of operations accountants / accounting staff
- Assist with the monthly close and reporting for a growing portfolio of more than 150 properties
- Property and partnership accounting and reporting
- Work closely with field operations group; some travel required
- Ongoing special research and reporting projects
- Assist with the annual budgeting process
Accounting Manager skills and qualifications:
- Expert customer and team orientation, anxious to jump in and help along a broad business spectrum
- Strong personnel management skills and prior experience
- Equipped to train, mentor, and supervise accounting staff; foster professional growth and development
- Ready to partner effectively with team members and other leaders to achieve goals and successfully implement business initiatives. Serve as a resource to provide expertise on various operational and customer related items
- Eager to learn the operations of our company
- Ability to manage multiple projects of varying priorities simultaneously
- A sense of urgency that drives ability to effectively deliver and manage results in a fast paced environment with exceptional follow through
- Very good with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
- Capable of anticipating changing business needs and conditions, proactively improves process functioning and strives for enhanced levels of efficiency
- Highly organized and focused
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including effective written and oral communication techniques to convey clear and timely messages
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and reporting including GAAP, accounting principles, and internal controls; accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking/treasury and payroll
- Excellent Excel skills, great with Outlook and able to quickly learn new systems
- Experience with NetSuite experience would be a plus
Representing an annual compensation between $90,000 and $110,000 (depending on experience)
