Job Title: Human Resources and Accounting Coordinator

Department: Human Resources and Accounting

Reports to: Human Resources Manager and Accounting Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Job Location: Tampa, FL

Summary

A Human Resources (HR) and Accounting Coordinator is a professional who completes administrative duties for the HR and Accounting departments of an organization. This role is a dual role offering support to both the HR department and Accounting department.


Duties and Responsibilities


Human Resources

· Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests including but not limited to VOE’s, Reemployment Claims, Employee Questions, etc.

· Maintain employee records within the HRIS

· Assist with the recruitment process by assisting in onboarding tasks such as preforming reference checks, background checks, credit checks, drug screenings and competing HRIS tasks related to onboarding

· Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas

· Maintain the HR Outlook Inbox

· Help coordinate HR events including wellness activities, quarterly meetings, holiday parties, etc.

· Produce and submit reports on general HR activity as needed.

· Assist with ad-hoc HR projects

· Auditing and paying insurance invoices for medical, ancillary, and W/C

· File W/C claims and assist employees with getting medical attention

· Distribute and maintain employee leave requests including FMLA, LOA, and STD

· Support team with other functions as assigned

· Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices

· Process weekly and biweekly payroll

· Assist with investigations as needed


Accounting:

· Performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, Reviews, codes and verifies transactions and journal entries

· Completes moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools

· Reconciles PO’s and credit card statements

· May also process accounts payable and receivable transactions

· Open and distribute mail

· Assist with processing checks from customers

· Assist with maintaining resale certificates from customers

Requirements:


Educational/Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma required, AA in Business related field preferred
  • Effective people management skills
  • Exposure to payroll practices
  • Familiar with HR functions, best practices and labor laws
  • Possesses a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools
  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Working Hours: Typical hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with occasional longer hours if needed

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those typical in an office environment, using phones, computers, and copiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
