Job Description
Purpose: The purpose of the Accounting Internship is to provide valuable exposure and experience in the construction industry and to KCI’s culture. The Project Engineer Intern will have the ability to apply coursework through work experiences.
Areas of Exposure/Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Collect timesheets, verify hours, calculate wages, and ensure timely payment.
- Cost Tracking: Monitor project costs, track expenses, and prepare cost reports.
- Bank Reconciliation: Compare bank statements with the ledger, identify discrepancies, and make adjustments.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, identify trends, and prepare reports.
- Compliance and Documentation: Review financial documents, maintain records, and assist in audits.
- Accounts Payable: Scan tickets, match invoices, reconcile vendor statements, and ensure timely payments.
- Financial Analytics: Explore Trimble Construction One analytics tools, create custom reports, and test the accounts payable automatic invoicing tool.
- General Tasks: Develop custom workflow folders in Vista ERP, assist in creating training materials, and collaborate with different departments.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Education: Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience: Previous internship or coursework in accounting is a plus but not required.
