Job Summary The Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) is seeking a business systems analyst to join our team. This position will have dual reporting lines and half time responsibilities in the Office of New Student Programs (ONSP) and the Vice Provost of Enrollment Management (VPEM) administration unit, and will help drive business and technology projects forward to enhance the student enrollment and transition experience at the University of Michigan. This team member will help design, develop and maintain systems that enhance ONSP's efforts to support students and families in transition. The systems analyst will be expected to apply expertise to several ONSP programs and projects under the direction of the Director of the Office of New Student Programs including orientation programs, mentorship programs, the Welcome to Michigan program, and Veteran and Military Services. Reporting to the OEM Chief of Staff, this team member will manage a portfolio of technology related projects that crosscuts the OEM division. The analyst will also play a key role in the development of data-rich presentations for U-M leadership and use of data in executive-level communications. Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) manages U-M's enrollment function to efficiently optimize students' experiences throughout their engagement, from prospect to alumni. The division collaborates with campus partners, faculty, and staff, in support of the university's mission and commitment to academic quality, accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion. OEM comprises a dedicated team of more than 200 full-time staff members, and up to 400 additional student and temporary staff and is structured in five operational units - the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of New Student Programs, the Office of the Registrar, and OEM Administration. OEM strives to provide excellence in access and support to diverse and inspiring learners who will challenge the present and enrich the future. Responsibilities Designs, develops and maintains systems to support students and families in transition. Serves as the ONSP and the VPEM administrative unit liaison to U-M Information Technology Services (ITS) and partners with the OEM Technology Team. Leverages Slate CRM, queries and reporting tools to access, analyze and present data for U-M leadership and other audiences. Lead and participate in product implementations and system maintenance for ONSP program operations. Collaborates with the Registrar's Office and U-M academic units on a diversified portfolio of strategic initiatives and projects that require technical expertise (e.g., the creation and assignment of first term registration appointments for orientation and/or supporting the development of multi-year enrollment targets). Play a key role in managing student and enrollment data for use in orientation and first term enrollment course registration, program facilitation, and the student billing and fee waiver processes. Assists with cross-functional projects, and works closely with the Chief of Staff to investigate and recommend technical solutions. Responds to ad hoc reporting needs and manages student and enrollment data for use in executive communications and strategic projects. Facilitates orientation billing and fee waiver processes with colleagues in the Office of Financial Aid, OEM Marketing and Communications, and Student Financial Services. Assists in the delivery of orientation programs including preparation of program material files, Shibboleth integration for online platforms, and provisioning access for virtual placement exams. Work collaboratively with the OEM Technology Team to implement solutions to streamline work, create efficiencies, and enhance the student experience. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Five years of experience in business systems analysis. Demonstrated ability to understand technical information, and communicate it to others using clear, concise, and user-friendly language. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Ability to work well in a diverse and collaborative environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Desired Qualifications Experience working in higher education. Prior experience with Slate, Oracle Campus Solutions architecture,PeopleSoft applications, and other Higher Education focused technology solutions. Project management experience; ability to track multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines with frequently changing priorities. Modes of Work The Office of Enrollment Management requires a hybrid work arrangement of minimally three days on-site and two remote days. Thursdays are required as an on-site work day for all members of the OEM team. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.
