Summary
As a Manufacturing Engineer III, you will provide engineering support of the manufacturing shop floor within the department. You will develop, maintain and improve production processes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Engineering Changes: Ensure the seamless integration of engineering modifications into production processes.
- Develop Work Instructions: Design and implement work instructions in compliance with ISO standards.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators: Track and analyze metrics like OEE, Equipment Availability, and First Pass Yield (FPY) to assess system performance.
- Maintain Facility Layouts: Create and update accurate facility layouts using AutoCAD software.
- Drive Quality Improvement: Enhance First Pass Yield, reduce Final Audit Failure Rates, and improve Total Cost Reduction (TCR) metrics.
- Optimize Safety and Ergonomics: Design and refine workstations and processes to improve safety and ergonomics.
- Streamline Material Handling: Develop and enhance material handling systems aligned with lean manufacturing principles through analysis techniques like process flow charting.
- Identify Cost Savings: Propose and implement ideas to reduce production costs.
- Manage Automated Systems: Maintain production floor data systems and ensure accurate parameter updates for engineering changes.
- Leverage Data Analysis: Use statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis to identify and implement improvements.
- Embed Lean Practices: Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize all areas of responsibility.
- Value Stream Mapping: Create, evaluate, and optimize value stream maps and designs.
- Enhance Equipment and Fixturing: Design and develop new tools and equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Lead Continuous Improvement Projects: Manage and execute factory improvement initiatives.
- Analyze and Redesign Processes: Study product requirements, develop process/mathematical models, and implement process enhancements.
- Integrate Innovative Technologies: Research and present business cases for new process technologies, and lead their implementation.
- Conduct Business Analysis: Perform cost-benefit analysis for new product launches and process or engineering changes using principles of engineering economics.
- Work Independently: Operate with minimal supervision, handling complex issues with autonomy and escalating only the most challenging problems.
- Provide Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers (Engineer I & II), fostering professional growth.
Requirements
- Four-Year College degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study.
- 5-7+ Years Working experience in manufacturing
- Comprehensive working knowledge of Manufacturing Processes
- Proficient in AutoCAD or any other CAD application, SPC, Plant Layout, Assembly Line Balancing, Ergonomics, etc.
- Have solid business acumens and understands how it relates to engineering responsibilities.
