Position SummaryAs the Quality Manager for Energizer's Global Auto Care business, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring the outstanding quality of products, provide support to Dayton Plant and product teams in translating and integrating improvements into our operations seamlessly. You will sustain and improve foundational quality competencies and capabilities by utilizing Chemical Engineering, Quality principles and tools, and apply our manufacturing processes, product requirements, manufacturing equipment and quality systems to prevent and resolve manufacturing technical problems, and product quality issues. ResponsibilitiesManage and lead a staff of quality engineers & technicians responsible for quality control of products produced or received at our facilitiesCommunicate product issues and changes across functions, facilities and managerial levelsApply quality and chemical engineering principles and design intent knowledge in proposing/revising/approving changes to current plant processes, product and equipment and quality systems (chemical/physical analysis, document control, change management, manufacturing testing, traceability, SPC)Analyze data of various types to identify trends or concerns and relate to underlying system or process issuesChampion risk mitigation and change management through temporary change authorization, potential problem analysis and failure mode effects analysisDevelop metrics and strategies for improvement of product quality and minimizing quality-related downtime or reworkParticipate and/or lead, as assigned, teams to remove roadblocks to operational teams related to improving process, products, and equipment as well as achieving cost savingsLead plant troubleshooting efforts as needed to maintain compliance with process and product specificationsParticipate in capital projects and provide quality related feedback to engineers and Value Stream ManagerUpdate process control system as needed via administration of computerized SPC software program for the plantPartner with RD&E to ensure documentation of test methods, material and product specifications, and other plant procedures is accurate and completeContribute to new product development teams to ensure quality is built into the design of our productsPromote and establish partnerships with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure acceptable quality of raw materials, components, and externally sourced productsApply quality tools to identify deficiencies and drive to root cause to keep projects on trackCoordinate or lead as appropriate efforts to understand and remedy customer complaintsWhat we are looking for5+ years of experience Supervisory/Management roleBachelor's degree; preferably in a Chemical or Process Engineering technical field5+ years of experience in Chemical Engineering, chemical blending, or Supplier Quality improvement processesQuality assurance experience - systems and projectsExperience with chemical manufacturing process, control systems, and Quality Management Systems in a chemical manufacturing, packaging or bottling environmentFinancial acumen related to operation & capital projectsDemonstrate strong leadership, managerial, communication and interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environmentExcellent problem solving and decision-making skillsWork with multifunctional teams and effectively interface with external partnersWhat we preferISO Certification experienceSMETA 4 or Pillar experienceGMP Certified experienceSix Sigma CertificationCome join us!Energizer is an equal opportunity employer, and we prohibit discrimination based on age, color, disability, marital or parental status, veteran status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other legally protected status in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
