GEO Operations Support
Location: Novato, CA, (Open to Remote)
12 month Assignment (Potential to extend)
Pay rate: $43/hr.
On behalf of our client a global leader in developing transformative therapies for patients with severe and life-threatening rare genetic diseases. We are seeking for a candidate that will join the Technical Operations group ensuring the production of clinical and commercial drugs through innovative manufacturing processes, robust quality assurance, and efficient supply chain management. The GEO Operations Support position is an integral part of the company’s Global External Manufacturing Operations (GEO) team. This role supports external contract manufacturing activities for clinical and commercial drug products, ensuring seamless product supply from contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs).
Job Responsibilities
- Assist Process Team Leads across Clinical, Small Molecule, Biological, and Packaging operations on prioritized activities.
- Execute all transactional ERP activities, including production transactions, purchase order receipting, work order updates, and inter-organizational transfers.
- Own and manage change controls within BioMarin’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure timely closure without supply disruptions.
- Consolidate and issue key performance metrics for Process Teams.
- Provide backup for Process Team Leads and engage in cross-functional efforts to resolve issues and ensure long-term performance improvements.
- Participate in initiatives aligned with site business objectives to deliver measurable time and cost savings.
- Create and standardize key business processes into Best Practice Documents or Standard Operating Procedures.
- Execute tasks to streamline processes and reduce operational touchpoints.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Operations or Supply Chain within a regulated environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
- Strong understanding of processes and unit operations relevant to team responsibilities.
- Experience with lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
