Job Summary
As the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, building and nurturing client relationships, and building and developing a high-performing sales team. Your expertise will contribute to our company's continued success in providing comprehensive logistics solutions to clients across various industries.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans that align with the company's growth objectives and market trends.
Identify new business opportunities, markets, and industry segments for expansion.
Analyze competitive landscape and market trends to create innovative sales strategies.
Team Leadership:
Leading, coaching, developing, and mentoring to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
Foster a collaborative and motivated sales culture that encourages teamwork and professional development.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
Understand client needs, challenges, and objectives to offer tailored logistics solutions.
Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
Business Development:
Identify and establish relationships with potential clients through networking, cold calls, and industry events.
Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create compelling sales materials and presentations.
Drive the development of innovative service offerings to address evolving customer needs.
Sales Performance Analysis:
Monitor and analyze sales data to track performance against targets and identify areas for improvement.
Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management on sales metrics, trends, and forecasts.
Sales Process Optimization:
Continuously refine the sales process to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Work with cross-functional teams to streamline internal processes and ensure smooth execution of contracts.
Market Intelligence:
Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in the logistics space.
Leverage market insights to inform strategic decisions and keep the company at the forefront of the industry.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field or at least 10 years of sales experience within logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing.
Proven track record of at least 8 years in sales leadership roles within the logistics or supply chain industry.
Strong understanding of 3PL services, supply chain operations, and industry dynamics.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
Willingness to travel for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
Competencies/Skills
Assertive and clear written and oral communication.
Willingness to grow and adapt as the needs of the business grow.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to solve problems.
Ability to work independently and team-orientated, able to work with diverse individuals within and outside the TIG/Exodus Organizations.
