Job Description
Partners Dental Studio, a leading orthodontic lab, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Floor Manager to oversee the operations of our production floor. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and quality of our laboratory production processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:
Manage day-to-day operations on the production floor, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
Supervise production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Develop and implement production schedules to meet deadlines and optimize productivity.
Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
Identify and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Efficiency and Process Improvement:
Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce waste.
Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize equipment performance and production layouts.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all products meet the company’s quality standards and specifications.
Implement and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes and outputs.
Address and resolve any quality issues that arise during production.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.
Conduct regular safety training and drills for production staff.
Team Leadership:
Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Motivate and mentor production staff to achieve their best performance.
Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments.
Handle employee relations issues and maintain high levels of morale and engagement.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate production records and reports.
Provide regular updates to senior management on production status and key metrics.
Prepare and present production performance reports and analysis.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Production Floor Manager or similar role in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong knowledge of production management principles and practices.
Experience in laboratory production, particularly in the dental or orthodontic industry, is a plus.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
Bachelor's degree in production management, industrial engineering, or a related field is preferred.
