Overview of Position
The Executive Director is the senior executive of North County Christ the King Church (NCCTK), responsible for the overall strategic and operational performance of the church. This role involves overseeing the church’s administration, financial health and budgets, and maintaining a healthy and positive work culture. This role requires a strong commitment to the church’s values and a passion for fostering community engagement and spiritual growth. The Executive Director reports directly to the Senior Pastor and is accountable for executing the Senior Pastor’s vision for the church.

Essential Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Assisting to develop and implement the church’s strategic plans to achieve its mission goals and objectives as well as the vision of the Senior Pastor
- Provide visionary and strategic leadership to the management team and staff
- Evaluate and assess economic trends, opportunities, and risks to inform operational strategy
- Team Leadership:
- Develop, and implement a management structure that allows for scale and growth
- Lead, mentor, and develop the management team and staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Promote a culture of collaboration and inclusiveness among staff, volunteers, and congregation members in pursuit of the vision and goals of NCCTK
- Encourage high performance, continuous improvement, and commitment to quality
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and competencies to meet church needs
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the church, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
- Implement and monitor policies, procedures, and processes to ensure operational excellence
- Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track performance, ensuring efficient functioning of all ministries and programs
- Ministry Development:
- Directing the overall development of existing programs and initiatives
- Collaborate with ministries, partners, and council members to identify and pursue new opportunities to drive healthy growth and expansion
- Financial Oversight:
- Collaborate with ministry team leaders to develop and manage the church’s budget, ensuring financial health and sustainability
- Oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting to the church council
- Ensure effective internal controls and financial management systems are in place
- Develop and implement funding opportunities to further church reach and scope
- Church Council Relations:
- Serve as the principal financial liaison between the church council and the church management team
- Communicate effectively with the church council, providing timely and accurate information
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the church's assets and reputation
- Oversee the church facility safety and security programs
Qualifications
- Prefer a minimum of a 4 year Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Administration, nonprofit management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years executive leadership in a church, nonprofit, or business equivalent in size to NCCTK, as it relates to budget and team management
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of corporate finance
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives
