Key Responsibilities of the Credit Specialist:
Conduct collection calls and follow-up emails with customers for past-due balances in a professional manner. This is a high volume organization.
Build and maintain positive relationships with assigned customers to facilitate collections.
Collaborate with the sales team by hosting monthly meetings to discuss collection efforts and accounts of concern.
Research and resolve issues contributing to account delinquency by liaising with customers.
Work with the sales team and credit manager, when necessary, to expedite collections.
Maintain organized and updated customer information, including contacts and communication history.
Lead efforts to resolve and minimize customer disputes.
Keep detailed records of issues, resolutions, and other pertinent information in the tracking system.
Respond to customer requests for credit memos, vouchers, invoices, and statements.
Qualifications of the Credit Specialist:
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in credit and collections or a related field.
Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel, including pivot tables.
Experience with collection software (e.g., Getpaid, High Radius) is preferred.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and portal platforms (e.g., Smart, Ariba) is a plus.
