Job Description

HII's System Integration group is seeking a Software Analyst to join our Integrated Training Systems Software Development team! This is a full-time position location in the Virginia Beach, VA area.

As a Software Analyst you will play a critical role as part of the Integrated Training Systems in the design, development and deployment of the Advanced Training Domain (ATD), a shipboard combat system trainer.

Essential Job Responsibilities •Manage the software development lifecycle of an embedded training application for a set of configuration baselines. •Work with a small software development team and our customer for sprint planning, execution, and reviews. •Work directly with external stakeholders to establish schedules, coordinate integration and test efforts, and manage deliveries. •Formulate software solutions via the use of software requirements, consultations with users, and investigation into systems flow, data utilization, and workflow. •Track problematic areas and issues under investigation to completion. •Generate documentation in support of software architecture, design, testing, deliveries, schedules, and monthly status. •Travel to support software installation and test efforts in laboratory and shipboard environments.

Minimum Qualifications •5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. •Experience implementing Agile/Scrum software development cycles. •Experience with distributed version control (such as Git/Subversion) and issue tracking (such as Jira). •Experience with C++ on Linux platforms. •Experience with modeling and simulation, TCP/IP networking, and distributed simulations is a plus but not required. •Security+ certification (or must obtain within 3 months of hire). •Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain a clearance). •At least 5 years' experience in a software development role.

Preferred Requirements •Experience with JIRA and subversion a plus. •Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science; Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering; Mathematics; or related field. •At least 2 years' experience leading a group of software developers. •At least 1 year experience in a customer-facing role.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
