Role Overview
Brown RISD Hillel (BRH) is seeking a talented numbers wizard to lead the financial and human resources management of our award winning, fast growing non-profit. Reporting to the Executive Director and in partnership with institutional stakeholders, the Director of Finance and Administration provides excellent oversight of BRH's budgetary and financial spheres, including financial reporting, accounting, and investment management. You will also play a key role in administration of human resources and supporting BRH's Board of Directors governance reporting needs. What You'll Do Financial management and oversight Manage accounts payable and receivable Serve as main point of contact for annual audit, 990 Assist Executive Director in preparation of the annual budget Produce monthly development and budget reports Manage the relationship with our offsite bookkeeping team, Jitasa Fundraising support Oversee the management of our donor database, Little Green Light Supervise a Development Assistant Manage HR administration onboarding/offboarding staff and student workers, payroll, and benefits Governance support Maintain records of organizational policies Manage board calendar and all preparations and arrangements for board meetings Maintain records of board meetings and actions Maintain excellent relationships with various Brown University administrative, legal, and advancement entities Serve on the BRH's Investment, Audit, and Finance committees On a day to day basis you will Pay invoices and process reimbursements for students and staff Transfer funds as needed within banking and investment accounts Review financial reports with ED and Board Treasurer Review timecards and submit for bi-weekly payroll Update the employee handbook as necessary Keep board contact information up to date Oversee entry of and spot check development data Communicate with donors regarding donation options, payment issues, etc. What You've Accomplished A background in organizational financial management is necessary. Experience in non-profit HR is ideal. IT knowledge is helpful; comfort with computers and web or cloud-based systems is essential. Candidates should have at least a bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience. We will consider seasoned professionals as well as those with only a few years' experience. You are a self-starter who also works well as part of a team. You are cool under pressure, enjoy people of all ages (especially college students) and enjoy helping an organization advance.
