Key Responsibilities
Financial Statement Responsibility:
Manage financial close, accounting, and reporting processes for accurate financial statements.
Conduct Financial Analyses:
Support strategic decision-making by conducting in-depth financial analyses.
Identify drivers of income statement and balance sheet variances.
Summarize and present current and projected financial status to leadership.
Manage Accounting Department:
Lead and support a team of 4 accounting professionals, overseeing day-to-day operations.
Manage general accounting, financial reporting, and processing tasks.
Provide training, guidance, and development for team members.
Supervise Accounting Activities:
Ensure reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
Oversee annual audits and maintain reconciliations for financial reporting accuracy.
Assistant Controller QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business
5 to 8 years of related experience
Strong technical skills, especially in Excel
Excellent interpersonal, team-building, and analytical abilities
Proven leadership or supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Supervisory experience in a large company
Advanced degrees or CPA/MBA certification
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
