Plant/Wheel Loader Operator

Groome is seeking an experienced Plant/Wheel Loader Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and maintaining a wheel loader or other heavy machinery within the plant or construction site. The operator ensures efficient material handling, loading, unloading, and movement of materials while adhering to safety regulations and operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a wheel loader and other plant machinery to move, load, and unload materials such as sand, gravel, coal, or other bulk materials. Transport materials around the site, ensuring proper placement in designated areas or loading onto trucks for delivery. Accurately load and unload materials from various containers, trucks, or stockpiles in compliance with site-specific guidelines. Perform basic maintenance checks, including inspecting oil, coolant, tires, and other mechanical components of the wheel loader to ensure safe and efficient operation. Adhere to all site-specific safety regulations and operational procedures, ensuring a safe work environment. Dispose of waste materials correctly and ensure the preservation of surrounding vegetation and structures while operating machinery. Maintain accurate records of materials moved, machine hours, and other necessary operational data for reporting and inventory tracking. Work closely with other team members, such as supervisors and laborers, to ensure smooth site operations and material management. Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding operational needs, maintenance issues, and safety concerns. Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years' operating wheel loaders or similar plant machinery in a construction, mining, or industrial environment. Valid certification in operating a wheel loader or plant equipment, including relevant health and safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, MSHA). Ability to lift and carry up to 90lbs, and physically capable of operating machinery for extended periods in various weather conditions. Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfortable working in various outdoor conditions. Capacity to operate heavy machinery for extended periods. Working Conditions:
Full-time position with possible overtime, depending on project needs. Work will be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. Safety equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times while operating machinery. Benefits:
