Raw Material Planner

Primary Responsibilities: Strictly apply the purchase contracts negotiated by the buyer and corresponding to the products and services requested. Make and/or facilitate decisions on alternative source where applicable. Ensure the smooth flow of raw materials:

Manage the raw material requirements from production schedules using spreadsheets and/or MRP. Manage stock/tank level with a constant focus on optimization. Create POs and send them to suppliers. Check PO supplier receipt and obtain commitment/confirmation. Centralize and forward supplier complaints to the Corporate Purchasing Department and record them. Negotiate lead times and delivery dates, as well as, changes with suppliers. Manages and determines optimum inventory levels of assigned raw materials. Coordinate inbound transportation with logistics group to assist in assuring continuous supply at optimum cost.

Comply with regulatory requirements for maximum on-site storage quantities. Manage master data accuracy for raw material codes.

Partner with supply chain/production planner to agree upon full stream inventory plan and calculate and establish safety and target stocks where appropriate. Partner with supply chain/production planner to agree upon planning/purchasing strategy for raw materials and, with the production planner, assure SAP material master settings reflect intended strategy full stream.

Establish the delivery program of raw materials, according to monthly orders/forecasts, daily consumption, tank capacity constraints and daily load of the logistics staff. Contact the unloading operators for unloading issues. Create and track STO (Internal Stock Transfer Orders) for raw material orders within the Group. Support the Supply Chain Manager in daily production plan management. Work in a dynamic of continuous improvement of the processes and manage CI projects to streamline processes related to this job position. Work cross functionally with supply chain planner, operations, logistics and engineering to manage complex supplier issues including material quality and availability and recommend solutions to assure supply. Provide key suppliers with monthly raw material volume forecasts, in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager. Know the Significant Environmental Aspects of his/her sector. Manage disputes with suppliers, material carriers, and logistics or production department claims regarding raw materials. Participate in the daily/weekly production meetings to confirm the planning or to inform of any raw material risks. Take actions as required to assure supply. Manage the weekly/monthly raw material procurement plan to mitigate risks by collaborating cross functionally to assure supply and minimize disruptions. Recommend solutions/ path forward and escalate as appropriate. Collects, analyzes, and summarizes supply management performance metrics against objectives including quality, on-time delivery, and lead-time. Communicates results and works with procurement to drive continuous improvement. Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics or related field required. Minimum 3 years of experience in a raw material planning capacity. Solid working knowledge MS Office applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook. SAP experience preferred. ERP experience required. Must be able to work with people having different personalities and different job functions. Have a flexible and adaptable attitude. Must be able to meet deadlines and deal with unexpected events. Ability to handle high stress situations. Above average organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Excellent skills in problem solving, facilitation, trouble shooting and multi-tasking Knowledge of DOT/Hazmat requirements Knowledge of logistics is preferred.
