Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Talent Acquisition Specialist at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for engaging in the full scope of talent acquisition activities specific to the non-exempt, blue-collar workforce -- recruiting, interviewing, evaluating and referring qualified candidates to Hiring Managers. Coordinates interviews, background checks, paperwork, and assists in facilitating the new hire orientation process to ensure smooth assimilation into the organization. Identifies and develops ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies, attends job fairs and career fairs, and engages in activities that support the Company's talent acquisition strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews recruiting processes according to organization plans and objectives. Meets with hiring managers to discuss needs and identify sourcing strategies. Identifies applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; maintaining rapport. Attend career and college recruiting fairs. Assist in coordination and implementation of college and intern recruiting initiatives. Enters new requisitions in ADP Recruitment Management (RM) System and assigns Approval Workflow. Updates and maintains recruiting workflow in ADP RM from the opening of a new requisition through cancellation or closure. Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications. Attracts candidates by posting positions to appropriate Internet sources, approved recruiters, and other recruiting sources. Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements. Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications. Proposes and negotiates approved offers of employment. Prepares official offer letters and completes the on-boarding process. Communicates all required orientation information to new hires prior to start date. Assists applicants and new hires with benefit questions on an as needed basis. Completes new employee orientation paperwork and processes paperwork. Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads. Assists with maintaining files, forms and database information associated with personnel, general information and recruiting. Follows through on all resumes and applications received for Company positions to ensure that proper correspondence is sent to applicants. Maintains resume and application database. Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits. Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or; An Associate's Degree in related field and at least two (2) years' recruiting experience required, or; A High School Diploma and at least four (4) years of recruiting experience required. Manufacturing industry experience in a union environment is beneficial, but not necessary. Experience with an applicant tracking system desired.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
Knowledge of Human Resources policies, employment law, affirmative action, and recruitment practices Must have strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills. Must have the ability to establish consultative relationships with Hiring Managers. Must possess exceptional organizational, time management, administrative, communication, and customer service skills. Must have ability to work well under pressure as a team and independently. Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.
