An Insight Global client in the Houston area is looking for an Information Security Consultant to join the security team in a remote position. This person will primarily be responsible for advising, leading and addressing all operational security needs within the department. The ideal candidate will oversee the development and administration of a comprehensive campus information security program ensuring strategies and services align with university mission, goals, and objectives, including coordination with assigned stakeholders. On a day to day basis this person will meet with the leadership team to discuss and improve security measures, prevent data analysis breaches and improve security scores, and oversee, evaluate, and forecast the need for IT security services, using industry-standard service delivery metrics and other assessment and reporting tools.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of experience managing, advising and executing security strategies

Proficiency in Active Directory user management and Office 365, including converting on-premises AD to cloud-based solutions

Experience ensuring compliance with NIST and TCF modified security frameworks

Experience with CrowdStrike and SOC operations

Strong advisory skills without direct implementation responsibilities

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Previous experience in higher education is a plus
