Material Handler (WMSS)
Shift: 2nd - 3:30pm to 12:00am; Monday through Friday; 30min unpaid launch Fork Lift expereince (preferred)
Job Summary: Material Handlers are responsible for moving recyclable materials through the facility, grading materials, and determining their destination for sale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned:
Move materials through the facility using material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, handcarts, hoists, cranes). Load materials into vehicles and secure them with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage during transit. Use PC tablets to manage data such as part numbers, quantities, locations, and comments. Transport materials from storage or work sites to designated areas. Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or containers. Properly document work performed. Conduct material audits as needed. Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check (includes employment history and criminal history). High school diploma or G.E.D. and 0-4 years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D. with additional or specialized training and 0-4 years of related experience. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity. Frequently exert physical effort to handle objects weighing less than 50 pounds. Engage in pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work in a material recycling facility, which may reflect heat or cold based on weather conditions. Exposure to dirt, odors, and noise for most of the workday.
