Our challenge
Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Software/Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in PostgreSQL database management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions that support our applications and services. Candidate will work closely with software development teams to optimize performance, ensure data integrity, and enhance the overall database architecture.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Phoenix, AZ is $105k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities
: Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and development environments. Collaborate with software development teams to optimize database queries and improve application performance. Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and redundancy strategies. Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues related to database and application integration. Ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements. Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, configurations, and procedures. Automate database maintenance tasks using scripts and tools. Participate in code reviews and provide guidance on database best practices. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in database management and infrastructure engineering. Requirements:
You are:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Software Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or Database Administrator with a focus on PostgreSQL. Strong understanding of database design principles and SQL optimization techniques. Experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and database deployment in cloud environments. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. It would be great if you also had:
