POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION
Main duties of the Material Handler are to move finished materials in a safe and efficient manner to the proper locations in the warehouse, and transfer steel coils between various departments in the Processing plant utilizing forklifts and overhead cranes.
This is a second shift opening. Sunday-Thursday 2PM-10PM.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Constant sitting. Frequent foot use. Occasional standing, walking, reaching over 15" away from the body, use of fine motor skills, and lifting up to 10 lbs. Minimal below waist level work, climbing, balancing, push/pull, carrying, reaching above shoulder, and forceful motion. Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
High School Diploma or GED equivalent (GEDWorks program eligible). Experience in forklift operation. Ability to use a scanner. Proficient in basic math skills. Basic communication skills. Ability to work well with other employees. Ability to follow and give instructions. Basic problem solving skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Forklift and/or overhead crane experience. Prior manufacturing experience. Safety awareness training. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Move coils from staging areas and place in storage. Move coils to draw lines and furnace areas. Perform miscellaneous duties as instructed by the supervisor. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules. Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements. Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.
