As Mainframe Modernization Senior Manager at Accenture, you will play a pivotal role in leading and driving transformation initiatives for our clients by modernizing their legacy mainframe systems. Leveraging your extensive experience in both mainframe technologies and modernization strategies, you will guide a team of professionals in delivering innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall business agility. This role requires a deep understanding of legacy mainframe systems, modernization approaches, and strong leadership skills to ensure successful project outcomes.
The Work:
Strategic Leadership: Define the strategic direction for mainframe modernization initiatives in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders. Develop comprehensive roadmaps that outline the transformation journey and align with business objectives.
Project Management: Lead a team of skilled professionals to execute mainframe modernization projects. Plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and challenges. Provide expert advice on mainframe modernization strategies, demonstrating a clear understanding of the benefits and potential risks.
Solution Design: Collaborate with technical architects to design modernization solutions tailored to clients' specific requirements. Evaluate existing mainframe systems, identify opportunities for enhancement, and propose efficient migration strategies.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with mainframe modernization projects and develop mitigation plans. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements throughout the transformation process.
Team Development: Mentor and develop a team of professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Present complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Industry Trends: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in mainframe modernization, emerging technologies, and best practices. Apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvements in the modernization process.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including technology architects, developers, quality assurance, and business analysts, to ensure seamless execution of modernization projects.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that modernized systems meet high standards of quality, performance, and reliability. Implement testing and validation processes to validate successful migration and functionality.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 5 years' of consulting experience with microservices architecture, and DevOps practices is advantageous.
+ Minimum 5 years' experience working with Mainframe Migration and Modernization partners.
+ Minimum 5 years' experience with modernization techniques such as rehosting, reengineering, refactoring, or re-platforming.
+ Minimum 7 years' experience in mainframe technologies and modernization strategies.
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If associate degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Strong leadership skills with a track record of leading successful transformation projects and managing teams.
+ In-depth understanding of legacy mainframe systems and associated technologies.
+ Familiarity with cloud technologies / Service providers (AWS, Azure & GCP)

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
