Job Description
The Builder Operations and Developer Tools team is responsible for Continuous Integration using pipelines and Continuous Deployment by building AWS backend services. We are looking for an Engineer with advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services infrastructure such as ECR, EC2, GC2, IAM, DynamoDB, Lambdas, CloudWatch, and API Gateways. Proficiency in Golang, Python, and PHP is required. The candidate will participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations. This includes designing and implementing a wide range of software using the AWS stack, and sometimes requires partnership with low-level embedded code software systems and architecting scalable design solutions for software distribution and deployment for satellites. You must be able to navigate high levels of ambiguity and unknowns, design flexible solutions, and succeed within an open, collaborative environment. Experience developing large-scale systems with a focus on operational excellence and scalability is essential. Responsibilities Software architecture, design, and development Understanding and leveraging AWS stack - IAM, Lambdas, CloudWatch, API Gateways, EC2 Developing CDK constructs and pipelines Building tools for developer productivity, monitoring, and observability metrics dashboards Essential Skills 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language 5+ years of backend services programming 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems Experience as a mentor and leading a development project Proficiency in Golang, Python, and PHP Advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services (ECR, EC2, GC2, IAM, DynamoDB, Lambdas, CloudWatch, API Gateways) Additional Skills & Qualifications 8+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent Work Environment
This position requires working onsite in the office in Redmond four days a week. The team operates in a collaborative environment focused on developing large-scale systems with an emphasis on operational excellence and scalability. The project involves launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. There is potential for extension and conversion. Compensation Range: $71/hr We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
