Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to perform managerial and technical work, assisting in the strategic planning and delivery of Information Technology (IT) services for the County. This includes assisting in the management of the County's IT software applications, development, and infrastructure. This position is focused on the operations of the department and is responsible for supervising research, recommendations, procurement, support, and testing of IT solutions. The position is expected to elevate the support provided to clients through process improvement and automation.

Lead the strategic direction of infrastructure and support teams, emphasizing the consistent performance and reliability of IT systems. Develop strategies to bolster IT infrastructure with a focus on cloud technologies, enhanced security, scalability, and overall efficiency. Assist the department in moving services, infrastructure, and business applications to the cloud. Ensure the support teams promptly address user issues, minimizing disruptions and system downtimes. Conduct regular reviews of system performance data to proactively address inefficiencies or vulnerabilities. Collaborate closely with IT leadership to align operational strategies with the department's strategic objectives. Design and implement automation processes to streamline operations, reduce manual tasks, and improve system reliability. Assist in developing and managing the budget, ensuring cost-effective deployment of resources and identifying potential areas for savings. Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies, with a particular focus on tools that can enhance operational efficiency through automation. Proactively identify and strategize to mitigate risks associated with IT operations and infrastructure. Mentor the operational teams, encouraging a culture of ongoing learning and a proactive approach to automation. Oversee and manage large-scale IT projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to specified requirements, and optimal resource allocation. Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field.

Experience:

Five (5) or more years of progressively knowledgeable, responsible and skilled experience in in an IT leadership role. An equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience may be considered in lieu of required education or experience.

Miscellaneous:

Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to guide and motivate technical teams toward achieving shared goals and objectives. Proven experience in cloud technology with an understanding of how to gain operational efficiency when moving from on-premises. Comprehensive knowledge of various facets of IT infrastructure, from networks and servers to databases and cloud platforms. Capability to develop and execute a forward-thinking operational strategy that aligns with the broader IT department's vision, with an emphasis on the role of automation. Strong analytical skills, with a focus on identifying issues at their root and implementing effective, often automated, solutions. Experience in managing substantial budgets, prioritizing value-driven expenditures, and demonstrating return on investments. Ability to foster productive relationships with a range of stakeholders, from technical staff to County representatives. Proven ability to identify and address potential operational risks, including those related to the implementation of IT infrastructure or business applications. Proven experience in implementing and maintaining KPIs appropriate for IT support teams.

Physical Demand Requirements:

Physical demand: Light

20 pounds maximum lifting. Occasional (up to 1/3 of the work time) lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word or perceiving sound by ear. Good eyesight for production or safety of self and others.
