Experience the true feel of Ireland and the Craic (Gaelic for Fellowship and Fun)! Working in an authentic, high volume pub is truly a unique and rewarding experience. The word pub originates from the term public house which references a community gathering place or focal point within the community for socializing and sharing stories, daily events, and in our case, great food with a great beverage. As a Host/Hostess you will greet and seat all guests in a friendly manner and assist in maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant and engage in guest readiness behaviors. Opens door for guests arriving and departing. Walk guests to their table while engaging them in conversation. Highlight menu items or specials for the guest after seating them. Accommodates any special needs of guests, i.e., boosters, highchairs, disabilities. Manages Open Table and additional reservations. Manages the Wait List when the restaurant is full. Provides guest assistance to servers as needed. Fills out daily entertainment and specials on feature chalk board. Maintains a clean and organized work area and completes cleaning as assigned. Changes out old menus, set tables with pub menus for late night and replenishes kid menus. Maintains clean windows. Checks restrooms and alerts managers of any issues. Guest readiness duties including stocking, cleaning host and foyer area, clearing tables, rolling silver, and maintaining overall dining room and foyer presentation. Qualifications:
Reading, writing, and basic math and verbal communication skills required. Communicate effectively with guests in person and on the phone. Mobility required during entire shift. Must be able to stand and exert a well-paced mobility for periods up to four hours in length. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees. Transports and carries objects (such as high-chair) up to 15 pounds up to 15 times a shift. Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant. 18+ years old
