Capital Projects and Physical Resources Manager
The Capital Projects and Physical Resources Manager will be a key member of the Business Operations Team in the SVC and Office of the Provost. The incumbent will be expected to participate and contribute to team projects and goals but will also need to have the initiative to lead projects. Responsible for the coordination and management of capital projects that strengthen and advance the academic mission across the 18 Responsibility Centers and 16 departments that report up to Senior Vice Chancellor and Provost. Build and reinforce existing relationships with departmental staff as well as a broad constituency across the University. The incumbent coordinates relocations, maintenance, and office renovations across the Office of the Provost. Serves as main interface with Facilities Management. Coordinates and manages office moves including reviewing and updating floor plans, purchasing furniture and office equipment as well as assessing the needs including but not limited to: managing key distribution and security access, telephone administration and property accounting records. Provides support to the Director of Administration in managing and tracking budgets and commitments, including extensive production and maintenance of complex reports. Responsible for addressing the day-to-day operational concerns of 16 departments in the RC. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Meticulous organizational skills and the ability to handle matters expediently with high levels of accuracy are critical. The ability to problem solve and provide sound recommendations to the Director of Administration is essential in this position. Advanced computer skills are needed to prepare reports and organize data. Ability to use independent judgment and make decisions is essential for success. Job Summary
Drives academic mission of the University by facilitation, assessment, and management of capital projects and intermittent special projects. Prepares proposed facility plans and renovations, designs proposed changes to buildings, and acts as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Prepares and presents complex analyses and reports for leadership and addresses operational and administrative needs and concerns. Essential Functions
Responsible for the management of capital planning and projects as it relates to the Provost Area, including budget oversight, schedule, personnel and execution. Responsible for project management at the Office of the Provost Responsibility Center level. The incumbent serves as the direct link to the OTP departments in matters regarding relocations, maintenance, and other operational issues Serve as project consultant and/or manager for other projects as they are identified in the Office of the Provost. This could include projects that are initiated outside the Office of the Provost but our presence/participation is being requested Physical Effort
Position requires frequent mobility around office and to various locations on campus.
