Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-impact projects within the Health Plan domain. This role will involve managing multiple concurrent projects with enterprise-level impacts, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring that deliverables are met on time, within scope, and according to the approved budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the healthcare industry, a proven track record of leading both Agile and Waterfall projects, and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders, including vendors, business partners, and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities: Lead complex projects that may have enterprise-level impacts across multiple business areas, such as new product launches, large-scale application development, infrastructure upgrades, and system migrations. Manage concurrent projects, coordinating resources and ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational goals. Oversee cross-functional teams, which may include matrixed resources from different departments within the company, as well as external vendor resources. Ensure projects are delivered in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, in accordance with the company's established project management practices. Collaborate with internal delivery partners across IT, architecture, analytics, and enterprise security teams to drive successful software development projects. Ensure that project deliverables (requirements documents, functional/technical design documents, test plans, etc.) are completed and approved according to established project schedules. Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and issues throughout the project lifecycle. Develop, refine, and monitor project budgets, ensuring they align with approved allocations and financial processes. Proactively manage the change request process, including changes to scope, schedule, and budget. Ensure timely receipt of deliverables and funds from vendors, while managing the execution of contracted work and ensuring contract compliance. Effectively represent the project and project team, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration across stakeholders. Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within the health plan or healthcare industry. Proven track record of leading high-complexity projects and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated experience working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Experience managing cross-functional teams and engaging with multiple stakeholders, including vendors, business leaders, and IT teams. Strong experience with project budgets, financial processes, and managing change requests. Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate risks and dependencies across complex projects. Experience with enterprise-level impacts and working with delivery partners across various business areas. Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 7+ years of equivalent experience in a relevant project management role in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry Experience:
Health Plan or Healthcare industry experience is required. Familiarity with large-scale system migrations, infrastructure upgrades, or outsourcing projects within the healthcare or health plan industry.
Certifications (if any):
PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant project management certifications are preferred.
Agile certification (e.g., Scrum Master) is a plus.
