Senior Network Architect

A higher education client is looking for a Senior Network Architect to lead the redesign and upgrade of its data network. Responsibilities include planning large-scale networks, recommending system changes, resolving complex issues, and training network staff. The role also involves collaborating with departments, representing Network Operations in advisory groups, and ensuring the network supports research, teaching, and administration needs.
**Must be willing to go onsite 2-3 days per week.
Estimated hourly rate for this position will range from $80-88/hour depending on level of experience.

Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience in network architecture
Experience in an enterprise environment using at least two of the following manufacturers: Aruba, Cisco, Juniper
Current expertise in network protocols including VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, and Spanning Tree.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Relevant industry certifications and advanced technical training - (ex: Cisco Certified Internet Expert, Aruba Certified Design Expert, Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert, etc.)
Experience configuring and maintaining infrastructure using Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tooling - (ex: AWS CloudFormation, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, Pulumi, Ancible, etc.)
