Title: Medical Assistant

OI Infusion is seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various administrative and clinical tasks, including handling lab work, managing referrals, scheduling appointments, and maintaining inventory. This role is critical in ensuring our healthcare facility operates efficiently and provides high-quality patient care.

Schedule: 3 days a week Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm, Part Time Location: New London, CT Job Description:

Prepare and process lab samples following established protocols and ensure accurate labeling and documentation of all lab specimens. Manage patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers. Ensure all necessary documentation and information is provided for referrals. Follow up on referral appointments and communicate with patients regarding their referral status. Document all findings accurately in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR). Monitor and maintain inventory of medical and office supplies. Place orders for new supplies and verify receipt of deliveries. Ensure all supplies are stored correctly and within their expiration dates. Greet and assist patients upon arrival, providing excellent customer service. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to the appropriate personnel. Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information and collecting copayments. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EMR system. Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration or medical assisting is preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare administrative or medical assistant role. Proficiency in using EMR systems and other office software. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with professionalism. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures.
